Finally, some good news!
A bad weekend for the Nationals all around. Let's recap: a sweep at the hands of bleeping Marlins, featuring three consecutive meltdowns by the bullpen; the embarrassment of misspelled "Natinals" jerseys on Friday night; the embarrassing, ridiculous decision to bench Elijah Dukes for being late after attending a local Little League function; Roger Bernadina to the DL with a fractured ankle, Cristian Guzman to the DL because of his sore hammy. Did we forget anything?
However, it wasn't all bad new for the Nats over the weekend. Lost in the gut-wrenching commotion was a silver lining:
In the bottom of the 5th inning yesterday, with the Nationals leading 3-1, Daniel Cabrera reached base for the first time in his major league career. He walked.
See, there's good news to be found, folks, you just need to know where to look for it!
Ho hum, in other mildly interesting news, the Nationals and Ryan Zimmerman finally agreed to a long-term deal: 5 years, $45 million for the Face of the Franchise.
Oh, and that other guy named Zimmermann makes his major league debut tonight, weather permitting. Guess that would qualify as pretty good news, too.
That's a man who has a tough time with the ladies right there.

Worse than a certain J. Tavarez?
