Strong Minors Finale for Baseball Jesus
Video above: Stephen Strasburg walks off the field in Buffalo at the end of the fifth inning. Here's hoping this is the last time we ever witness Baseball Jesus exiting or entering a minor league game.
Buffalo News describes the scene as pinch hitter Jeff Mandel came up to pinch hit for Strasburg in the top of the sixth:
Strasburg's pitch limit was 95 and the Chiefs used fellow pitcher Jeff Mandel to hit for him in the top of the sixth because he threw 89 pitches (54 strikes) through five. When Mandel was announced as the pinch-hitter, there was a scattering of boos and many fans headed to the exits.
We're still smarting over yesterday's loss in Houston. Too bad Strasburg can't pitch tonight against the Reds; they could use a win.

Houston? What happened in Houston? I'm not aware of any baseball game yesterday in Houston. C'mon Tuesday!

Houston, We have a problem ...
It's always a road trip from hell when San Diego, San Fransico, or Houston is invovled. They haven't played well in any of those towns since they've moved to Washington. I've endured too many frustrating late nights over the years watching those games.
