(Photo of TV/MASN by Nationals Enqurier staff. The McCatty Jinx? Steve McCatty pays a visit to John Lannan in the bottom 5th with two outs and a man on second. Of course, the Marlins' Brett Carroll doubled in another run moments after McCatty returned to the dugout. Do they keep stats on how many times a visit to the mound by McCatty is immediately followed by a big hit?)
"The outing today, the results weren't there, but I felt better. I've just got to make pitches when I need to."

What's wrong with Lannan?
Marlins 9, Nationals 3: Nats drop 2 of 3 to Fish. The good news is, Tyler Clippard got his second day off in a row on Sunday thanks to John Lannan & Co.
35 Ks in 3 Days: That's a lot of whiffin'!
At this rate, Brian Bruney is going to make the roster move to make room for Drew Storen a no-brainer in a few weeks:
"Guys are getting on. Obviously, I'm trying to do everything I can to keep them off base. But anything I'm doing, they find a way to get on. Very frustrating."
(Brian Bruney, via Nationals Journal, 5/2/2010)
Meanwhile...it seems even Baseball Jesus himself caught the crappy pitching bug on Sunday.
Lannan has a better record, ERA, WHIP than a year ago. Relax. He'll be fine.
