Looking Out For Number 1.

20070810lh2

"I know I have at least five to six guys that went out there and pitched for us last year and didn't embarrass themselves. Every one of them that pitched regularly for us had an ERA below 5. I know I have those guys there. We're not searching for them."
(Manny Acta, via Washington Post, 2/10/2007)

Manny lowers the bar for '08 rotation. Wanted: five or six guys he can throw out there who won't embarrass themselves.

Well, we can think of a big fat guy who's looking for a job who fits that bill...

...And is a lock to give you 200+ innings AND might even knock in more runs than Felipe Lopez.

No offense to Hill, Chico, Bergmann, Patterson, Redding, Clippard, Lannan, Balester, Mock, etc., but removing one "If..." from the list of starting candidates would sure feel good. Get Livo.

With that 4.93 ERA last year Livan fits right in around here!

Not to mention the fat guy factor with Da Meat Hook, Ray King, and Nick Johnson...
