Lannan recall could've been timed better...

"We're leaning toward John Lannan. He certainly would have earned [the right] to be part of our rotation in spring training, but we'll make that determination after Saturday's game, what we decide to do."
(Jim Bowden, via Washington Post, 4/3/2008)

Surprise! Lannan will (most likely) join the rotation on Sunday.

Official annoucement of Shawn Hill's move to the 60 day DL coming in a minute or two.

But wouldn't it have been more fun if it had been set up to have Lannan pitching in Philadelphia this afternoon? Surely, those classy Phils fans would've given him a warm welcome?

Video above, moments after Lannan's ejection in his big league debut last July, after plunking Chase Utley and Ryan Howard -- breaking Utley's hand. Philadelphia loves them some John Lannan!

Meanwhile...

Felipe Lopez continues to be a good citizen, tapped for LF. Hey, if Wily Mo can play left, anyone can play left...
