Elijah Dukes released by Nationals
Wow. Shocking news out of Nats camp today. And maybe most shocking is that it might not be related to off-the-field problems. We'll see.
Adam Kilgore reports that the move was a "baseball decision"; at least that's what Jim Riggleman says:
Manager Jim Riggleman said it was a strictly baseball decision and not related to any off-the-field problems. "We like some of our other options in right field, really," Riggleman said. "Elijah was great."

Huh? But what other better options are there? Willie Harris? Bernadina? Maxwell? These are better options than Dukes?
There's got to be more to this story...
Dukes, who missed time last Friday because of a sore toe was not included in either of Tuesday's split squad lineups. Borrowing from Kilgore again, Riggleman said the absence wasn't related to injury/physical issues:
Elijah Dukes is also absent from either split-squad lineup today, but Riggleman said he just has a routine day off. "No physical issues," Riggleman said.

No physical issues. But issues? Something isn't adding up. There's got to be more to this story...
Godspeed, Elijah Dukes. Hope you can figure it out somewhere.
