CORRECTION:
NOT CHEAP?

20070923

Whatever you do, don't call The Family cheap! Yesterday, the cheapskate free-spending Mr. Ted Lerner dug up several more suitcases full of cash (reportedly among the ~15 he buried under home plate at RFK Stadium for 'safe keeping' after the final home game last season). Thanks, Mr. Lerner.

Two more down, Crow to go: Nationals sign Daniel Espinosa (#3 pick, $525,000, bonus, small bills) and Graham Hicks (#4 pick, $475,000 bonus, twenties and fifties only).

Yup, they said they wouldn't go over slot; but that's not what they've done thus far. NFA provides a quick breakdown of the bonus money paid out thus far by Mr. Lerner. One to go.

Now, the Aaron Crow watch intensifies. And more posturing, this time by the artist formerly known as Trader Jim (likely still smarting over the news that Adam Dunn got traded to AZ), via Nationals dot com:

"We continue to have dialog with Alan Hendricks regarding Crow...But we are not going to give out Major League contracts [to Draft picks]."
