Enquirer Exclusive: Bowden hoping for a do over!

20060713lk

"We don't feel like we were dealt with fairly, and you can go to the bank that we're not going to take it sitting down. Obviously that little crybaby Wayne Krivsky had a point about Majewski being damaged goods, but it wasn't my responsibility to do his homework for him prior to the trade. Long story short -- he deceived us by letting us trade for Kearns and Lopez. The way I see it, useless goods are worse than damaged goods! So we're trying to trade Kearns and Lopez back to the Reds for Majewski and Bray, straight up. If Krivsky won't take my calls, then I will file a grievance with Major League Baseball to right this egregious wrong."

Trade Shocker! Bowden trying to trade Kearns and Lopez back to Reds!

On the one year anniversary of Jim Bowden supposedly pulling one over on Wayne Krivsky and the Reds, who really got the short end of the stick?

According to sources with no direct or indirect knowledge of the situation, Jim Bowden is attempting to trade Austin Kearns and Felipe Lopez back to the Cincinnati Reds for Gary Majewski and Bill Bray, citing a little-known 'useless goods' clause in the The Official Professional Baseball Rules Book governing transactions. Sources not necessarily inside the organization say Bowden is hoping Krivsky "forgets" about Ryan Wagner, because Jim likes his upside.

You were happy about the trade last year, right?

Let the record show I was having second thoughts the next day (http://www.nationalsenquirer.com/2006/07/the_morning_aft.html)...but yeah, I liked the deal then...and in the long run I think it'll be a wash at worst.
